After an entertaining Phase 1 of the tournament, the PDC Premier League of Darts resumes this week with the first three nights of action in Phase 2 of the tournament. Eight players remain in the event after two were eliminated on Judgement Night in early May.
The remaining eight players will play each other once more over Phase 2 before the top four in the table qualify for the playoffs, which will be played on Friday 28th May.
The PDC is hopeful that the second part of the second phase of the tournament, which starts on the 24th May, may be able to have at least some fans in attendance after lockdown restrictions are reviewed on May 17th.
The Premier League of Darts now reaches arguably its most exciting stage with the eight players battling for a top four spot in the table. That offers us some fantastic betting this week and across the remainder of the tournament and bet365 Sport is a fantastic option for anybody that enjoys pre-match or In Play betting on darts throughout the year.

Premier League of Darts Phase 1
Table
- Nathan Aspinall – 13 pts (+16)
- Dmitri Van den Bergh – 13 pts (+14)
- Michael van Gerwen – 11 pts (+8)
- James Wade – 10 pts (+7)

Rob Cross joined Glen Durrant in being eliminated from the tournament after Phase 1. The Englishman lost four crucial games in a row over the last five nights to drop into the ninth spot in the table, just a point behind Gary Anderson.
Nathan Aspinall leads the table on legs difference ahead of Dmitri Van den Bergh, but it is an incredibly close race this year with just five points separating Aspinall at the top from Anderson in 8th place in the table.

Night 10 Betting Tips
Wednesday 5th May
- Jonny Clayton (evens) v James Wade (15/8) – 15/4 the Draw
There’s no doubt that Jonny Clayton has been one of the form players of 2021, but I think his odds for this game with James Wade are a little short. Wade has lost just one of his last six games in the competition, winning four and he is a player who is also in good form a the moment. It will be a close one but I just think Wade’s greater experience in the pressure cooker games will see him take this one. Back Wade to win 7-5 at 15/8 with bet365.
- Jose de Sousa (10/11) v Gary Anderson (21/10) – 15/4 the Draw
By his own admission, Gary Anderson has said his form over the last few weeks has been very poor and that has seen the Scotsman’s odds drift out considerably in this game with De Sousa. The Portuguese star won three games in a row to move into 6th in the table and despite losing and drawing his last two games, he looks well positioned for a chance at a top four spot. I think de Sousa will pick up his fourth win in the tournament here winning 6-3 at 10/11.
- Dmitri Van den Bergh (7/4) v Michael van Gerwen (21/20) – 15/4 the Draw
This has all the hallmarks to be a cracking clash on the opening night of phase 2. 2nd takes on 3rd in the table as the in form Dmitri Van den Bergh hopes to improve his position with a win against a Michael van Gerwen who has been out of sorts over the last week or so in floor tournaments. Even so, I expect the Dutchman to be back to his best in these higher profile games and that makes for an exciting prospect. This should be very close but I am backing van Gerwen to land a 7-5 win (21/20).
- Peter Wright (6/5) v Nathan Aspinall (6/4) – 15/4 The Draw
Can Peter Wright rediscover his best form? The former World Champion has been up and down in the tournament this year and has won just one of his last four games. Even so he starts the favourite against leader Nathan Aspinall, who has not lost in his last seven matches in this event. As the odds suggest, I think this will be a close one and will go down to the wire and as such, I am backing a 6-6 draw here which is a 15/4 shot.
