While many sports have had to stop completely during the current shutdown, some sports have managed to adapt a little to at least offer some punters the chance of a bet. One of the sports to have done this very successfully in the last couple of weeks is professional darts and it is all thanks to their innovative “Home Tour” ideas.
My own feeling is that the original idea for these home tour events must have come from watching the Virtual Darts game created by Inspired Entertainment (which is also available at bet365 Sport, as well as a number of other sites too). In Virtual Darts, Inspired filmed a number of veteran players from the senior tour throwing darts, with the darts hitting numbers on the board. They then splice this together to create random matches between the players to produce different results each time thanks to a random number generator.
This clearly demonstrates that two players can play a game, even if they are not physically together and while Virtual Darts is based on a random number generator, there is no reason why two players could not play each other, both located at their homes, using the power of the Internet to track score and stream the event. Hence the creation of the Home Tour.
If you fancy a flutter on any of the Home Tour events mentioned in this article, then you should sign up with the latest bet365 Sport New Player Bonus, if you are not already a member of the site, to get yourself off to a great start. The site, as we will explain below, also offers an excellent choice of betting on each of these events.
Unfortunately, if you are based in some parts of the world, like Indiana and Pennsylvania in the United States, bet365 Sport isn’t available in those states, but there are betting services that are. The latest BetRivers Affiliate Code “HOOSIERBONUS” will get you off to a great start when signing up from Indiana with the BetRivers site. In Pennsylvania, the latest playsugarhouse bonus code will get you up and running nicely on a top-rated site in this state too that offers casino gaming and poker in addition to sports betting.
With darts popular not just in the UK but across the globe, many punters are looking at the home tour for a little betting action and if they bet at bet365, then this is what they would find available.
Bet365 Home Tour Tournament Coverage and Markets
- PDC Home Tour 2020

This is the Home Tour event that features most of the household names in darts at the present moment as it is linked to the PDC. Players such as current World Champion Peter Wright, Gerwyn Price, Dave Chisnall, James Wade and Jonny Clayton, as well as female star Lisa Ashton, signed up to compete in the event, although Gary Anderson had to pull out due to problems with his home WiFi service.
The event started towards the end of last week with an initial 32 players split into eight groups of four. Each group is played to completion over one night of darts starting on Friday 17th April and coming to a conclusion with the final Group H games being played on Friday 24th April.
So far we have seen Jamie Lewis and Peter Wright finish first and second respectively in Group A, Luke Humphreys, who completed a nine-darter in his win over second priced Gerwyn Price, were the top two n Group B, while in Group C, Dave Chisnall and Scott Waites were the players to finish in the top two places.
Last night saw the tightest group yet with Dutchman Geert Neenjes winning the group, with the other three players Lisa Ashton, Mickey Mansell and Ross Smith winning one game apiece. The eventual runner up had to be decided by legs won and that meant Mickey Mansell was confirmed as the runner up.
As well as betting available on the other four groups remaining in the first phase of this tournament (Group E featuring Luke Humphries, Devon Peterson, Nick Kenny and Joe Murnan gets underway tonight), bet365 is also offering a wide range of bets on each of the matches being contested in the PDC Home League, with other bets including Correct Leg Score, which player will hit the most 180s and whether there will be a 170 or 9-dart finish in the match.
- Modus Darts Icons of Darts Live League 2020
Another option for darts fans that offers a similar range of bets to the PDC event is the Modus Icons of Darts 2020 League. This event features groups of six players competing against each other of a number of weeks of action. Each week five players from each group will play round robin games each night, with the sixth player on a designated rest week. Over time, the player will build up a record over the weeks which will be used to calculate their position on the final table.
Players taking part in this event include Paul Nicholson, Arron Monk, Andy Jenkins and former world Champion Raymond van Barneveld.
The games in this tournament tend to start in the morning at 11am, so you will need to tune into bet365 Sport a little earlier than usual to ensure that you get your bets on and you will find as extensive a range of betting available on this tournament as you will for the PDC event, including match and group betting as well as plenty of markets for each individual game played in the tournament.
- Modus Darts A Night at the Darts 2020

While the Icons of Darts is played during the day, Modus are also running another tournament played in the evening, which features a number of the same players that are competing in the afternoon and this is the A Night at the Darts 2020 tournament.
It is set up in a similar way to the Icons of Darts tournament with groups of 6 players, five of whom play against each other in a round robin format across each week with their scores being carried forward into the final table.
Players competing in this event include Martin Adams, Raymond van Barneveld, and Scott Mitchell and there is both group betting as well as a wide range of markets for each individual match available for all the games in this tournament.
- Remote Darts League 2020
The Remote Darts league is the BDO affiliated tournament that features a number of new and veteran stars from the BDO organisation. Ten players are competing in the event which sees players play nine round robin matches against each other, with the top four qualifying for the semifinals and playoffs once the games have been completed.
The games are the best of 12, but if a player reaches seven legs then they are declared the winner of that match, similar to the format used in the PDC Premier League Darts. This does mean matches can be drawn in this event.
So far, Welchman Jim Williams leads the table with a 100% record of 3 wins from 3 matches, followed by James Richardson who is also unbeaten winning two and drawing one of his three games. Darryl Fitton and Paul Hogan complete the top four with the likes of Wes Newton, Tony O’Shea, Alan Norris, Gary Robson, John Walton and Dean Winstanley all competing.
You can bet on the match result and a number of other markets for each game, as well as which of the ten players competing in the event will be the outright winner of the tournament.
In addition to betting, bet365 is also streaming some of these matches live, from the A Night at the Darts tournament in particular and if you have made a bet in the preceding 24 hours, or have a credit balance in your account, you can tune in to watch the event at bet365 Sport.
