This past weekend, the Premier League and Football League season got underway in England and over the next week or so, the action will recommence once again in other top countries around Europe, such as Spain, Italy and Germany. Of course, at such a time, many people are considering placing their bets on the teams that they believe will win the major divisions in Europe.

That is where this rather exciting new bet365 Sports Offer comes into its own as it is offering players the chance to earn an early payout on selected bets on the To Win Outright market. Not only that, but the offer is available across seven of the most popular leagues to bet on for the 2020/21 season.
Let’s take a closer look at the main details of the offer.
League Winner Early Payout Offer
Get your bets paid out early if the team you back takes a lead of 10 points or more in their league with bet365.
Applies to bets on the To Win Outright market on selected leagues up to and including the 15th October 2020. Bet restrictions and T&Cs apply. New and eligible customers only.
What’s the small print on the Early Payout Offer from bet365?
The offer applies to bets made on the To Win Outright market for any of the following divisions across European football:
- Premier League
- The SkyBet Championship
- SkyBet League One
- SkyBet League Two
- Bundesliga (Germany)
- Serie A (Italy)
- La Liga (Spain)
Once you have made your bet on the markets above, provided it has been placed before the 15th October 2020, you can then watch how your team performs in their division. If at any point your selection moves 10 points or more clear at the top of the table, then bet365 will pay out your bet as a winner at that point.
This is regardless of whether the team actually goes on to win the league at the end of the season or not.
Last season, punters that backed Liverpool to win the Premier League on a similar bet365 offer were delighted to see the Reds move more than 10 points clear by the 14th December 2019 and as such, those bets were paid out as winners on this date, more than seven months before the season actually ended.
Why this bet can be risk for bookmakers!
Early payout offers on teams winning the league have become very popular with punters in recent times but not just because they can get their hands on their winnings a little earlier, it also means punters could claim a win on their bet, even if their team doesn’t then go on to win the league title, and that expense is then taken by the bookmaker offering the deal.
It may sound fanciful, but it has happened twice in the past, to the same bookmaker and in very similar circumstances. In 1998, bookmaker Fred Done paid out on Manchester United winning the league early, costing his company ÂŁ500,000, only for Arsenal to go on and pip United to the title by a single point.
Then in the 2011/12 season, Mr Done also paid out on United a few weeks before the end of the season when they went five points clear at the top of the table claiming the title was done, only for rivals Manchester City to close that gap and win the league title on goal difference on the final day of the season.
This underlines why these early payout bets can be a great deal for punters as they can not only win early, but also win even if their team doesn’t then go on to win the league!
Are there any teams I could back in the divisions which could see an early payout activated?
Last week you may recall that I gave you my top tips for the Premier League season ahead and amongst those tips was my tip for the Premier League with me suggesting Manchester City (then odds of 4/5, now 5/6) were the team I’d back unless Liverpool secured the transfer of Thiago from Bayern Munich. With no sign of that happening, I’d still say Manchester City were the pick here.
However, the chances of City opening up a gap of ten points or more on Liverpool or other teams likely to be in contention such as Chelsea and Manchester United isn’t that great to be honest as I expect this year’s Premier League to be a lot more evenly contested than last, when Liverpool pretty much romped home to the title with seven games to spare.
In fact, the same is true across all of the English leagues involved in this offer. The Championship is always a very keenly contested division and it is rare for any one team to open up a huge gap on the rest in this league. It is even less likely that this will happen in League One or League Two where the teams are perhaps more evenly matched than in either of the divisions above them and where just a few points can be the difference between winning the division and missing out on the playoff places.
Of the three remaining leagues, I also feel that seeing a team in Spain open up enough of a gap between themselves and the rest is unlikely because Real Madrid and Barcelona are so well matched and have such fierce rivalry that it is rare for either to romp away from the other to claim the title, even with a new manager at the helm at the Nou Camp in Ronald Koeman.
However, I do feel there could be a possibility that Juventus could open up a big gap in Serie A. Much of that depends on how rivals like Inter and Lazio perform. If they are not consistent and Juventus are, as they have been over the last few years, almost imperious in the league, then it is possible that they could open up a gap of 10 points and see punters that backed them rewarded early.
For me though, the best option here are the current Champions League and Bundesliga champions Bayern Munich. They were comfortably the best team in Europe over 2020 so far and they are an incredible run of form under Hansi Flick. Having been strengthened by the arrival of Leroy Sane from Manchester City too, they should be a real force in Germany and a team that I can see opening up a big lead at some point of the season.
