The first Grand Slam tournament of the new tennis season, the Australian Open, is now into its second week of action and for the players still remaining in the tournament, that chance of lifting one of the most prestigious trophies of the tennis year remains very much alive.
For sports betting fans, tournaments such as the Australian Open offer a massive choice of betting opportunities, both on the tournament as a whole, and in each individual game. American customers in the states of Indiana or Pennsylvania may not be able to access the bet365 Bet Builder, but they can enjoy a wide range of betting on the final week of Australian Open at a number of sports betting sites in each state. Indiana citizens can check out the current BetRivers Affiliate Code “HOOSIERBONUS” when joining that site for a great deal when signing up, while in Pennsylvania, the latest playsugarhouse bonus code will help you get started betting on a popular online site in that state.
Let’s now take a look at how the final week of action at the Australian Open is shaping up, and who we think stands the best chance of success in both the men’s and women’s tournaments.
Australian Open Review and Predictions
Men’s Singles
Quarterfinals
- Rafael Nadal (1) v Dominic Thiem (5)
- Novak Djokovic (2) v Milos Raonic (32)
- Roger Federer (3) v Tennys Sandgren
- Alexander Zverev (7) v Stan Wawrinka (15)

Of the eight players remaining in the men’s draw, four of them have lifted this trophy (Nadal, Djokovic, Federer and Wawrinka). The first three of those players will be favourites to make it to the semifinals with top seed Rafael Nadal having arguably the toughest task against another clay court specialist Dominic Thiem.
Novak Djokovic, seeking his eighth Australan Open title of his career, faces the big serving Canadian Milos Raonic, the 32nd seed, in what should be a fierce display of power hitting between the pair, while the venerable Roger Federer, who has rolled back the clock with some superb displays in this year’s tournament, will be happy at facing the undeeded American Tenys Sandgren, a quarterfinalist here two years ago, who has defeated two Italian seeds in Matteo Berrettini and Fabio Fognini, as well as big-serving compatriot Sam Querry on his way to his first ever game against Federer.
The final quarterfinal will see another Swiss ace and former winner, Stan Wawrinka face German ace Alexander Zverev after Warwinka produced a fine display to defeat the much-fancied fourth seed Danil Medvedev in the last round.
Our Australian Open Men’s Quarter Finals Accumulator Tip
- Federer to beat Sandgren (1/12)
- Djokovic to beat Raonic (1/7)
- Nadal to beat Thiem (3/10)
- Wawrinka to beat Raonic (6/5)
Back this fourfold bet at the odds stated above with bet365 and you could pick up odds of 2.54/1, which means a £10 bet would return you £25.40 in winnings, plus your stake money back.
Women’s Singles
Quarterfinals
- Ashleigh Barty (1) v Petra Kvitova (7)
- Simona Halep (4) v Anna Kontaveit (28)
- Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova (30) v Garbine Muguruza
- Sofia Kenin (14) v Ons Jabeur

As expected, the women’s tournament has proven to be extremely open but the standout clash in the quarterfinals sees home favourite Ashleigh Barty take on last year’s beaten finalist here Petra Kvitova in what should be a fantastic clash. Another big game sees fourth seed Simona Halep take on 28th seed Anna Kontaveit with the former world number one from Romania Halep the clear favourite to make it into the semifinals.
The other quarterfinals are perhaps a little more surprising with the resurgent Garbine Muguruza finding her top form to reach the quarterfinals where she will take on 30th seed Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova, while fourth seed and highly regarded Sofia Kenin will take on arguably the surprise package of the women’s tournament so far, Tunisian star Ons Jabeur, who has defeated Johanna Konta and Caroline Wozniacki on her way to becoming the first Arabian and African women to make a Grand Slam quarterfinal.
Our Australian Open Women’s Quarterfinal Accumulator Tip
- Sofia Kenin to beat Ons Jabeur
- Petra Kvitova to beat Ashleigh Barty
- Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova to beat Garbine Muguruza
- Simona Halep to beat AnnA Kontaveit
Back this fourfold bet with bet365 Sport and you could get odds of 10.5/1 on this bet. That means a £10 stake on this bet could see you return £105, plus you would get your £10 stake money back.
If you wanted to, you could also put together the four selectionsf from the women’s tournament with the four selections for the men’s tournament into a single eightfold accumulator. This bet would return at odds of 39.72/1, which means a £10 stake would return £397.20 in winnings, should the bet be a winner.
