There are some sporting weeks that offer you plenty of opportunity to engage in a wide variety of sports betting at the highest level of the sport (or esports) in question and this week is certainly a very good example of that.
At the weekend, we have the trilogy bout between Tyson Fury and Deontay Wilder for the WBC World Heavyweight boxing championship but before that we have the start of the two biggest and most popular esports tournaments in the world and also the first of two sets of crucial World Cup Qualifying matches.
With so much to get through and so many opportunities to bet on these events with bet365 Sport, we had better crack on and give you our cut down previews of these big events, starting with the ones that get underway first, the two huge esports tournaments.
Remember too, while you can’t bet on esports in the United States, you can bet on the boxing and soccer action taking place this week and a great place to start with that is with BetRivers Sportsbook.
So let’s crack on with a look at the two big esports tournaments taking place this week.
League of Legends World Championships & Dota 2 The International 10 Start

League of Legends World Championships
Starting today, the 5th October in Reykjavik Iceland, the 2021 League of Legends World Championship will get underway with the Play In stage of this massive and truly global esports tournament.
A total of 22 teams will contest the tournament, the starting at the Play In stage and the remaining 12 seeded through to the Main Event which comprises of a Group Stage, followed by a straight knockout through to the final when the World Champions of 2021 will be decided.
The tournament has long been a preserve of teams from South Korea and China in recent times with the current holders Damwon Gaming, and the record number of winners of the tournament, T1, both hailing from South Korea, while their main challengers are other Korean teams, as well as Chinese teams like Edward Gaming and Royal Never Give Up.
The month-long tournament has plenty of outright markets to bet on, as well as betting available on each game, both pre match and also In Play including plenty of great betting on the final itself on the 6th November 2021.

Bucharest, the capital of Romania, the International 10 is back with a bang after a year’s absence and Team OG are amongst the 18 teams competing as they attempt to win the richest prize in esports for a third time straight.
However, the 17 other teams competing from all over the world will be desperate to prevent them doing that and to lay a claim to the lion’s share of a world record setting prize pool of over $40 million.
12 teams earned their spots through qualifying as the 12 best teams in the Dota Pro Circuit, with the remaining six teams winning through half a dozen regional qualifiers from all over the world.
The tournament runs for 11 days from the 7th October through to the 17th and will feature a Group Stage which sees all 18 teams drawn into one of two groups of 9. After which the bottom team is eliminated and the remaining eight teams head into the Knockout Phase.
The top four teams in each group enter the Winner’s Bracket, with the teams ranked 5th to 8th entering the Losers Bracket. Teams then play knockout matches to decide the winner of each bracket, although if you lose a game in the Winners Bracket, you get a second chance to reach the final by dropping into the Losers Bracket.
However, lose a Loser’s Bracket match and you are eliminated from the tournament.
Both of these esports events will see many more markets available than you would find on much smaller tournaments and feature the best teams and individual players in both League of Legends and Dota 2 Esports, as such, they are sure to be popular betting opportunities for established and new esports betting fans.
Bet365 is offering a wide range of bets on these tournaments over the next few weeks, so do take a look to see what is on offer.
World Cup Qualification Games – Matchday 7 and 8 & Nations League Semis & Final
Starting Friday this week, we see Matchday 7 in the FIFA World Cup Qualifying taking place in Europe, with Matchday 8 starting on Monday next week. Most teams will have two games to play in the qualifying campaign, with all playing at least once over the international break.
In addition to this, we also have the semifinals of the European Nations League, which will see Italy face Spain on Wednesday night, followed by Belgium against France on Thursday, with the final and third place games both taking place on Sunday.
All four Nations League Semifinal Games will take place either at the San Siro (Italy v Spain & the final) or Juventus Allianz Stadium (France V Belgium and 3rd place match).
In addition to the Nations League, there are key World Cup Qualifiers for the home nations with England facing games against Andorra (Away) and Hungary (Home), while Scotland face crucial matches with Israel on Saturday and the Faroe Islands on Tuesday.
Wales face a tough trip to the Czech Republic in what is now a must-win game for them on Friday and then they follow that with a trip to Estonia on Monday. Northern Ireland face Switzerland away on Saturday, before travelling to face Bulgaria on the road on Tuesday.
Other big games to watch include Hungary v Albania in England’s group, Croatia v Slovakia, Albania v Poland and Denmark v Austria.
Add to this soccer selection a host of games in the English lower leagues and there is a great deal of football action you can enjoy over the course of the weekend.
Fury V Wilder III – WBC Heavyweight World Title Fight
Finally, on Saturday night, Tyson Fury will defend his WBC World Heavyweight title against Deontay Wilder in the third fight of their trilogy.
The Gypsy King shared the spoils with The Bronze Bomber in their first fight, although many felt that Fury had done enough to win the fight, despite a last round knockdown. The judges disagreed and scored the bout a draw, which meant the two would meet again.
In the second fight, Fury dominated Wilder, knocking him down and having him in trouble on several occasions before Wilder’s corner threw in the towel, a decision which Wilder was furious with after the fight.
That win handed Fury the WBC title, although Wilder had inserted a clause for a rematch which, after negotiations with Anthony Joshua’s team for a unification fight broke down, Fury’s camp agreed to.
After Oleksandr Usyk’s superb win over Joshua a couple of weeks back, the Ukrainian is now the WBA, WBO, IBF and IBO title holder, so whoever wins this fight could be in line for a unification bout with the former unified Cruiserweight world champion.
It’s a massive night for boxing with another card in the UK featuring a number of talented British fighters in action too as Ted Cheeseman and Troy Willliamson clash, as do scousers Liam Smith and Anthony Fowler.
With other big fights coming up before the end of the year too, such as Canelo Alvarez V Caleb Plany and Terence Crawford v Shawn Porter, it promises to be a very exciting couple of months for boxing fans, especially after Saturday night when how things stand in the heavyweight division will become much clearer.
Fury is the 3/10 favourite to beat Wilder with bet365 after his dominant display in the second fight, while Wilder is the 5/2 underdog to land a victory here.
