It’s Christmas week and that means we are now entering the crazy season for Premier League teams. While many countries around Europe shut down their football calendar over the festive and new year period, teams in England will play three Premier League games between the 26th and the 2nd November, as well as an FA Cup Third Round tie just a few days after New Year’s Day. Four games in little over a week is sure to test the mettle of any team.
With that in mind, we are going to preview the three sets of league games taking place over Christmas and the New Year and give you our best tips on each of these games. I won’t be able to give you my detailed appraisal of each game, given as there are 30 to be contested over the course of a week, but we will cover each game with at least a basic tip.

There are some cracking games on Boxing Day this year with the top two clashing at the King Power Stadium with Leicester City taking on Liverpool in what could be a massive test for both teams. A win for Leicester would put them right back in the title race, whereas a win for Liverpool would see them extend their lead over the Foxes.
Other big games on the day include Manchester City seeking revenge against a Wolves side that beat them 2-0 at the Etihad earlier in the season, while two huge clubs clash in Manchester as United take on the United of Newcastle in what should be an interesting game with Steve Bruce heading back to the club where he enjoyed most success as a player.
There are key games too at the foot of the table with Aston Villa against Norwich being an eye-catching game, as is Everton against Burnley.
My top tip for this selection of games is for Wolves, who are very good at home, to continue their excellent recent unbeaten form by claiming a draw against a Manchester City side that do appear to be a little off the pace compared to the last couple of seasons.

Coming so shortly after the Boxing Day fixtures, this weekend’s set of games has a very eye-catching London derby to look forward to as Arsenal and Chelsea will clash once again at the Emirates. High flying Liverpool face a tough task against a Wolves side that have been difficult to beat this season while it will be interesting to see how Sheffield United’s defence cope away from home against the fluid attack of Manchester City.
The action begins with a south coast derby as Brighton and Bournemouth clash, while Newcastle’s game with Everton should be an interesting clash at St James Park. There’s a key relegation battle too at Vicarage Road where Watford face what is a must-win game for them against an Aston Villa side that is struggling for consistency this season.
Finally, improving Manchester United will be hoping their good recent form continues as they face a tricky trip north to take on Lancashire rivals Burnley, while title-chasing Leicester City face a tricky trip to West Ham.
My big tip here is to back the draw in the big London derby game between Arsenal and Chelsea.

Barely will have the candle flickered on the end of 2019, and the teams will be in action in the first game of 2020 with nine games played across New Year’s Day and Liverpool’s game with Sheffield United taking place a day later at Anfield.
There are some huge games to look forward to today including a Premier League classic between Arsenal and Manchester United, who have battled out some of the most enthralling matches in the league over the past couple of decades or so. Other big games see Leicester make a trip north to face an in form Newcastle, while Manchester City face their local north west rivals Everton at the Etihad.
West Ham and Bournemouth face each other knowing that they need to put a miserable end to 2019 behind them and start 2020 in much better form, while Chelsea head south to face Brighton and a number of relegation battlers face key games with Watford at home to Wolves, Norwich face Crystal Palace and Southampton face Jose Mourinho’s Tottenham.
The big tip form this selection is for Newcastle to keep up their fine home form by holding Leicester City to a draw.
