• Chelsea v Valencia – Chelsea to win and both teams to score – 11/4

If you want a good value bet on a British side, then Chelsea to beat Valencia (who shipped five goals to Barcelona at the weekend in a 5-2 loss, while Chelsea were beating Wolves on the road by the same scoreline) then I think Frank Lampard’s men to win the game but to concede a goal is a wise move, especially considering Chelsea have conceded more in the Premier League than the vast majority of teams this season.

• Champions League Outright Winner – Manchester City – 10/3

There’s no doubt for me that Manchester City’s owner and perhaps their manager Pep Guardiola will want to win this trophy more than any other. Having won everything bar the Champions League last season, it will irk City fans that their name is not yet on the trophy, while their main rivals Liverpool have their name on it six times. I think City may well sacrifice a little in the league to ensure victory in Istanbul next summer, if it is necessary.
