What’s the story with the 2023 US PGA Championship?

The 2023 US PGA Championship tees off on 18 May in Oak Hill’s East Course in New York. It’s the second Major of the year, with the Masters Tournament in Georgia taking place in April. Next up is the U.S. Open in California in June, followed by the last of the majors of the year, England’s Open Championship at the end of July.

The action ends on 21 May and the total prize fund for the 2023 US PGA Championship is $15,000,000. So when all is said and done, some golfers are going to be getting a major payday.

The US PGA Championship is run by the PGA. That stands for the Professional Golfers’ Association of America. There are 29,000 members in this organisation, so that’s a lot of people dedicated to golf!

The first US PGA Championship was held in 1916, when the PGA was first formed. It took place in Bronxville, New York in October.
